Workshops/Classes
- Street Theatre Company’s ClassAct Dramatics announces it’s spring 2012 youth program, Triple Threat Intensive! Each block is broken down by age group and features an intensive 2-week workshop rehearsal period on the specified performance material (Vocal Performance, Choreography, One-Act Play). The spring will culminate in a Performer Showcase with students from each block. This showcase will be highly publicized and open to the public with special invitations to family, friends and local community theatre artists and directors. Each block will meet Monday-Thursday, 4-6 p.m. for two weeks. There will be a week of rehearsal for all participants April 23-26 from 4-6 p.m. at Street Theatre with a performance on Friday, April 27th at 7:00 p.m. For tuition and scholarship information and to register, please email elaina@streettheatrecompany.org
Tennessee Rep will host three workshops this spring designed for high school and college students who would like training with some of Nashville’s leading professional theatre artists. - Stage Combat: Rapier 101 Date: Monday, March 19, 2012 Time: 6:00–9:00pm. Instructor: David Wilkerson Maximum Participants: 12. Cost: $35. Rapier 101 will introduce/reinforce the basic techniques of Rapier stage combat: parries, movement, evades, attacks, etc. This workshop is appropriate for beginning and intermediate fighters. Auditions
- Auditions for film, “Antebellum”. Saturday March 3rd 4-7pm and Sunday March 4th 1-3pm Download details here.
- Center for the Arts presents The Color Purple Auditions February 27-28 Monday and Tuesday, 6:00-8:30pm. Auditions will consist of cold readings, dance, and music. All actors will be asked to sing at least 16 bars of a prepared piece of music. An accompanist will be provided. Be sure to bring sheet music or cd. A large cast will be required for this production. The Center for the Arts encourages actors, singers, and dancers to come out and audition for this unforgettable musical! Performance Dates: March 11-27, Friday & Saturday night performances at 7:00, Sunday matinees at 2:00. - Open Auditions for Children’s Chorus to perform in Siegel High Choral Department’s “Evita” in Murfreesboro TN. Wednesday, February 29th (Leap Day) at 4 p.m. in the Siegel High choir room.
