Hello Students (and parents),

I just wanted to let you all know the plan for when I have this little girl. 

I’ll be taking a maternity leave from mid-April through July and then picking back up with weekly lessons in August for the Fall semester.  If, however, there are special auditions that students want to prepare for or something like that we can schedule lessons, as needed, during the summer. 

I always give my students the summers off from regular lessons anyway so we’ll just start that about 6 weeks earlier this year! 

A note about Summers off: I generally give students off during the summer from regular weekly lessons mainly due to the crazy vacation, work, camp, church, show schedules that most everyone has.  I tried to teach one summer and couldn’t keep any sort of regular schedule so I have stopped with all of that, unless, of course, there is a particular audition or some other urgent need to prepare for.  Also, I find that giving students a break gives them a chance to enjoy singing and acting without having due dates and specific goals that we are working towards.  Then in the Fall most everyone is ready to get back at it and has new goals or songs they want to work on, etc.
